Physicist Shawn Carlson on Science Education

Shawn Carlson, one of the most interesting people I have ever met, is passionate about science literacy. His work in that field is what earned him a MacArthur Fellowship in 1999. To open this video, he draws upon his youthful experience as a homeless street magician to make the point that science is most crucially about not fooling yourself. He then goes on to describe his LabRats program which, after being on hold for a while, seems poised for a rapid revival. I am very pleased to see Shawn back in the business of what he does best.
