This YouTube video is a spectacular example of how math, physics, and computer programming can come together in a fun project. Unfortunately, calculating how to do everything that is demonstrated would be inappropriate for a math or physics class in high school or the first year of university. Even the sub-problem of adjusting the thrust of four independent propellers to keep the pole balanced vertically would be a challenge.
That said, the video could be used to inspire some more traditional questions involving torque and projectile motion. I just bookmarked it so that I can find it easily the next time I tutor a student who is struggling with either of those topics.
