Double Algebra as a Solution to Math Woes

Not everyone will like the idea but this article describes some research into the benefits of giving struggling students a double dose of algebra to make sure they understand it before moving on to more advanced topics. I can certainly see where this is coming from. So many of the students I have tutored in high school and even university math are still confused about very fundamental operations that they should have learned in about Grade 9. In many cases, it’s even earlier material like how to add fractions that makes them a bit nervous.
